Daily Prayer is a CTS Tradition.

Evening Prayer is said each weeknight at Christ the Servant following a simplified format.  On some saints’ days of the church, a simple Eucharist is held instead. On Wednesday evenings, we often have a simple sung liturgy using the Holden Village format.  During Advent and Lent, we have sung vespers with organ on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.   For more information, see our weekly calendar, or call the chuch office.

We have many prayer concerns, but each week, we pray for each member of the congregation, our clergy, our young men and women in the military, and our sister Congregation in Liberia.   Here is a version of our evening prayers for you to use in your home, to join your voice with ours, when you can’t come in person.

THE  CLOSING PRAYERS

L:         O God, from whom come all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works.  Give to us, your servants, that peace which the world cannot give, that our hearts may be set to obey your commandments, and also that we, being defended from the fear of our enemies, may live in peace and quietness; through the merits of Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God forever.

R:        AMEN.

L:         Lord, remember us in your kingdom, and teach us to pray:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed by your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.  Give us today our daily bread.  Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.  Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil.  For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.

L:         Let us bless the Lord.

R:        Thanks be to God.

THE BLESSING

L:         The almighty and merciful Lord, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, bless and preserve us.

R:         AMEN.
